I was listening to the John Mayer station on Pandora and the word “Try” was bouncing around on the screen. Then, I heard the Lord’s whisper in my heart… “Try”. “You need to try”. Then I heard, “We ALL need to try.” It’s not that God needs to try (because he already does), but the statement was in the all inclusive. we ALL need to try; to make the decision to try again. To learn what it looks like to actually try again.

All of this is to say, I am not sure what has been difficult for you lately. However, here is what I DO know: God is very interested in us trying again. Whether it is learning to trust, being brave again, picking up where we left off in big life decisions, or just tackling the haunting daily setbacks that seem impenetrable, it is time to try again. When we rally the courage, the strength and the humility to simply try again, we CAN succeed. We CAN make it! But, only if we TRY the right way this time.

Instead of “trying alone”, we need to do it God’s way. For some, the “trying” part has more to do with having trust that God has any interest in our trying in the first place. But he does!

“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory.” – Matthew 12:20

I know it has been difficult, to say the very least. But when we give it back to God, he lends His very capable hands in the trying. May your heart be ever-encountered today and may you have the courage to try again!

    1. That is a good word. This morning while praying for the Camarillo healing rooms, I heard God say in an all inclusive tone, Don’t give up, don’t give up! I’m not finished with you yet.
The sense was to keep on trying, and knocking and persevering, for ‘The More’ is coming!!! We serve a More God! Amen!
